Website colour and adjustment

I originally tired to use a muted lavender-grey as my background, however this didn't come up as well as i would of liked it to on other screens, so decided to look at websafe colours and tweak my colour scheme and build

This is my original colour scheme

"Powder blue" way too overpowering.

"Thistle" was in the same kind of tone as powder blue

"lavender" was more akin to the same tone that i wanted for the background.

continuing on from there i wanted to experiment with the backgrounds for the images

 "Papaya whip"
"honeydew"

"light cyan"

Where colours that i tried, however the purple/yellow colour scheme seemed to work best for the overall balance for the website

"Cornsilk" a colour i considered however it didn't give the contrast i felt the work needed

Ultimately i settled with the colour "lemon chiffon"

Dolorez suggested moving the banner, changing the colour of it to look less muted and putting it in a window and these where the results:

Magenta is a bit too eye catching against the background, and it draws attention away from the image.

 "thistle"

"pink"

 "Peach puff"
"misty rose"
 "pale turquoise"
These colours where far too pale against the white border and didn't stand out enough.

"Plum" was a colour that was dark but not overpowering.

putting the header in the window i found it was overbearing and i found it made the header looked too important for what it was.
